The Southern Iowa Regional Housing Authority (SIRHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households. The SIRHA has communities in the following counties: Union, Clarke, Decatur, Ringgold, Adams, and Taylor. Please note: All one bedroom units are reserved for elderly/disabled households. There are three ways to apply: Visit the SIRHA to pick up a pre-application, located at 219 N. Pine St., Creston, Iowa 50801, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm CT, Monday-Friday.Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (641) 782-8585, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.Download a pre-application online here, then print and complete.Once the pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: If claiming a preference, you must submit appropriate documentation. The SIRHA does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: Live and/or work in the counties that are listed above, elderly, disabled, or veteran.
