The Palatka Housing Authority (PHA) Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Pre-applications were last accepted from March 10, 2021, until April 15, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.Please note: According to the PHA, "Pre-Applications will ONLY be accepted for families that qualify for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Mainstream program. Qualifying families will be:A non-elderly family who’s head of household or spouse is under 62 years of age and has a verified disabilityNon-elderly persons with disabilities who are transitioning out of institutional or other segregated settingsNon-elderly persons with disabilities who have previously experienced homelessness and are currently a client in a permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing projectNon-elderly persons with disabilities who are referred by a partnering homeless service organization"There were two ways to apply during the opening period: Print the pre-application and forms available online.Pick up a pre-application from the lobby of the PHA.Once the pre-application has been completed, it must have been either:Postmarked between March 10, 2021, until April 15, 2021, and mailed to the Palatka Housing Authority.Dropped off at the PHA drop box.Income limit information can be found here.This waiting list had the following preferences:Military veteransLive in, or have verified six (6) months and an average of at least 30 hours a week of employment in Palatka or Putnam CountyHead of household or spouse is elderlyHead of household or spouse that has disabilityDisplaced through no fault of their own due to a federally declared natural disasterVictims of domestic violenceVictims of a pandemicHomelessIt is not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list.For more information, read the PHA public notice, or visit the PHA website.Sources: This information was verified by the PHA on March 10, 2021.
