About this program
NMAS strives to prevent homelessness by making housing available to eligible clients. This is done through: Financial assistance provided by the HOPWA program to meet the costs of shelter OR Placing clients in housing owned by NMAS The Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program (HOWPA) allows NMAS, as funds are available, to provide eligible clients with financial assistance for mortgage, rent, and utilities costs. Mission Statement: New Mexico AIDS Services is a nonprofit organization that advocates for and enhances the lives of people affected by HIV and AIDS by providing direct services and prevention education.
