About this program
Allied Churches of Alamance County (ACAC) provides emergency services in a safe and healthy environment, while moving individuals toward self-sufficiency. Services target those facing multiple barriers to success, including: Homelessness /housing instability Hunger / limited access to basic needs Histories of abuse / neglect Severe mental illness / chemical dependency Minimal job training / community disconnect Lack of education / no positive support Emergency Assistance Through an Emergency Assistance Network, ACAC assists individuals with documented emergency needs, such as overdue utility bills and housing. Each person in need of assistance completes an application and is interviewed, allowing ACAC staff to review their situation. When possible, Allied Churches will refer individuals to other community organizations for additional assistance. Mission Statement: Allied Churches is a shelter for the homeless, hungry, and hopeless; a sanctuary for those seeking spiritual renewal; and a catalyst for personal responsibility and transformation.
