United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties - Rent-subsidized Housing for Adults with Developmental Disabilities. UCPLA is one of the largest developers of affordable housing for the developmentally disabled community in the United States. Their eleven independent living apartments help address the critical shortage of affordable, accessible housing in Los Angeles, Orange and Santa Barbara Counties. Residents of their apartments have an increased sense of independence, with the ability to lead productive, autonomous lifestyles, contributing to their communities as citizens, employees, students, neighbors, and friends. Subsidies made available through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will ensure rents will never exceed 1/3 of each residents income.
