The Spokane Housing Authority (SHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from September 1st, 2019, until September 15th, 2019.Please note: According to the SHA, "To qualify you must:Be a current Housing Choice Voucher participant for at least one full year.Have copy of the First Time Homebuyer's Certificate to present to SHA for each member of the household over the age of 18 years."According to a SHA representative, the First Time Homebuyer's Certificate is given once a person has completed the homeownership course.There were two ways to apply during the opening period:Submit electronic copies of the certificatesBring the certificates into SHA during normal business hours.This waiting list had the following preferences: Public housing residents affected by a RAD conversionSelected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, weighed by order of preferences.For more information, visit the SHA website.
