About this waiting list
The Chester Housing Authority (CHA) is currently accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications. It opened in August 2014. This waiting list is open indefinitely. There are two ways to apply:1. Visit the HACC to pick up an application, located at 2678 Dawson Dr., Building 100, Chester, SC 29706, between the hours of 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.2. Download the application here, then print and complete.Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered on Tuesdays, between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.Be sure to include these documents with your application: social security cards, birth certificates, social security cards, photo IDs for all adult household members, and documented proof if claiming a preference.The HACC does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: employed at least 20 hours a week, elderly, disabled, displaced by government action, displaced by a natural disaster.More information can be found by visiting the HACC website at http://chesterha-sc.org/, or by calling 803-581-6981, between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
