The Hugo Housing Authority (HHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until further notice. Hugo, OK is about 180 miles southeast of Oklahoma City, OK. There are two ways to apply:Visit the HHA office to pick up a pre-application, located at 300 13th Pl, Hugo, OK 74743, from 8:30 until 12:00 pm CT; and 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (580) 326-3348 from 8:30 until 12:00 pm; and 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 8:30 until 12:00 pm; and 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Please note: Once the pre-application has been handed in, you are required to attend an orientation meeting that is held every Wednesday at the HHA office at 2:00 pm. Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, and proof of all income. The HHA does not have a preference. Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon submitting the pre-application. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority. Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the pre-application is received. The approximate time for a voucher is 6 months.
