The Housing Authority of the Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative (HACHEC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households. Please note: The waiting list for Public Housing is quite lengthy. The HACHEC offers one Public Housing community with 32 units for families and senior/disabled households, ranging in size from 1 to 3 bedrooms. To apply, visit the HACHEC office to pick up a pre-application, located at 109 West Hammon St., McCurtain, Oklahoma 74944, from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, and proof of all income. The HACHEC does not have a preference. Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the pre-application is received.
