The Town of Chapel Hill Housing Department (TCHHD) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals. The TCHHD offers three Public Housing communities with 335 units for families and senior/disabled individuals. To apply, download the application here, then print and complete. The link to the application can be found on the bottom right-hand part of the web page, under " Once the application has been completed, it can mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. Be sure to include copies of these documents with your application: birth certificates, social security cards, proof of all income, marriage certificate If applicable, custody or guardianship papers, photo IDs for all adult household members. The TCHHD does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: For Orange County residents: disabled, elderly, homeless, rent burden, involuntary displaced.Outside of Orange County: employed, rent burden, involuntary displaced, elderly, homeless, disabled, or victim of domestic violence.
