This waiting list is for Section 8 Project-Based Voucher rental housing assistance in Lowell, Massachusetts.The Lowell Housing Authority (LHA) last accepted Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for 2, 3, and 4-bedroom apartments from January 22, 2024, until January 26, 2024. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.There were two ways to apply while the waiting list was open:Print the paper application.In person applications were accepted at the Mercier Center.Once the application was completed, it was either dropped off or mailed to the Lowell Housing Authority.This waiting list had the following preferences: Involuntarily displaced from a dwelling unit in the municipality of Lowell by natural disaster, by fire, by unwarranted landlord action, and by Government action including capital programs of the LHA.Working head of household or working spouse, who has averaged 20 or more hours per week ofr at least 6 months, or person 62 years old or older or a person unable to work because of the extent of their disabilityLegal resident of Lowell or a person working in Lowell or a person with job offer to work in Lowell.A victim of domestic violence who has been relocated as verified by the police.veteran as verified by the Department of Veteran Affairs.Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.For more information, visit the LHA website.Sources: This information was verified by the LHA public notice on January 22, 2023.
