The Monroe Housing Authority (MHA) waiting list for Public Housing apartments is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least December, 2017, until further notice.The MHA operates six Public Housing communities with units ranging from 1-5 Bedrooms, located throughout the City of Monroe.There are four ways to apply during the opening period:Complete the online application here.Pick up an application at one of the communities. Location information can be found here.Pick up an application at the MHA Annex Building, located at 210 Harrison Street, Monroe, LA 71201, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm CT, Monday-Friday.Call the MHA at (318) 388-1500 to request an application by mail.Once the paper application has been completed, it must be mailed or hand delivered to the MHA.The following information is required with the application:Application must be completed and signed by all household members age 18 and olderBirth Certificates must be provided for all household membersSocial Security Cards must be provided for all household membersPicture I.D. must be provided for all household members age 18 and olderVerification of any housing priority you may qualify for must be providedProof of income for all household members (if employed we will need the last four (4) most recent check stubs)This waiting list has the following preferences:The urgency of housing needs is due to: floods, fire, natural disaster, etc.Families displaced by government actionApplicant is a veteran or spouse of a veteranApplicant is a victim of domestic abuseFor more information, visit the MHA Apply page, or the MHA website.
