Our jurisdiction includes the following counties: • Sangamon CountyVeterans Preference A Veterans preference is available to applicants whose head of household, spouse, or co-head is a veteran or survivor of a veteran who actively served in a branch of the U.S. Armed Services. Persons dishonorably discharged do not qualify for this preference. A Veteran is defined as a person who served in the active military service of the U.S. at least four (4) months.
