This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Boise City and Ada County, Idaho.The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority (BCACHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications on a limited basis from May 28, 2024 until June 27, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.Please note: According to the BCACHA, "Due to limited funding availability, the BCACHA will only be opening the waiting list to applicants that meet the following local preferences. Applicants must meet all of the qualifications in order to be eligible for the lottery.Head of Household must be over 18 years of age; ANDMust be low-income (50% or below Area Median Income); ANDMust qualify for the Idaho residency preference (a family qualifies if the family lives, works, or has been hired to work within the state of Idaho); ANDMust meet at least one of the following definitions:Head of household, co-head or spouse are age 62 or older; orHead of household, co-head or spouse is disabled; orFamilies with children under the age of 18The maximum income limit for each household size were as followed:1 Person- $34,300 | 5 Person-$52,9502 Person- $39,200 | 6 Person-$56,8503 Person- $44,100 | 7 Person-$60,7504 Person- $49,000 | 8 Person-$64,700The waiting list had the following preferences:Idaho residentsElderlyDisabledFamilies with children2,500 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.For more information, visit the BCACHA website.Sources: This information was verified by the BCACHA public notice on May 14, 2024.
