The Area XV Multi County Housing Agency (AXVMCHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.The AXVMCHA serves the following counties: Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, KEokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe,Van Burne, Wapello, Washingon, and Wayne.Please note: Each county has its own waiting list. Be sure to mark which county and bedroom size you would like to be placed on.There are two ways to apply: Visit the AXVMCHA to pick up a pre-application, located at 417 N College St., Agency, IA 52530, during normal office hours.Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (641) 937-5222 during normal office hours.Once the pre-applicaton has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.Be sure to include copies of these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards, photo IDs for all adult household members, and if claiming the residency preference, you need to supply documentation.The AXVMCHA does have a preference for: Applicants who live and/or work in the counties that they serve.For more information, the AXVMCHA can be reached by calling (641) 937-5222 during normal office hours.
