Applications are being accepted from March 8, 2021 until further notice.There are two ways to apply during the opening period: Print the online paper application available here. Select the link in the sentence that says "A Pre-Application can be printed by clicking HERE."Pick up an application from the PGHA Administration Office, located at 340 Gulf Breeze Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.Once the application has been completed, it must be either:Mailed to the Punta Gorda Housing Authority, 340 Gulf Breeze Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.Faxed to (941) 639-1753.This waiting list has the following preferences:Residency Household whose head, spouse or sole member currently resides or works in Charlotte County, FL or the City of North Port, FLDisplacement Household has been displaced by no fault of your own by any of the following:By government actionHome was extensively damaged or destroyed as a result of a natural disaster (for example, hurricane, local flooding and wildfire)Working Family Household whose head, spouse or sole member have verifiable employment at a minimum of 20 hours per weekDisabled Family Household whose head, spouse or sole member receive social security disability benefits, supplemental security income, or any other payment based on the individuals’ inability to workElderly Family Household whose head, spouse or sole member age 62 or olderSelected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.For more information, visit the PGHA website.Sources: This information was verified by the PGHA public notice on March 8, 2021.
