Memorare, inc. was founded in 1996 by Cheryl proctor, to address the ever growing homeless population needs of shelter. The board of directors of Memorare, inc.,has the firm belief that in order to have a more profound effect in the lives of the homeless, residential transitional living, offers the most far reaching effective plan in returning people to permanent housing. Residential transitional living, utilizing department of housing and urban development guidelines of a 24 month per person/family assistance time frame, allows them to address various economic and social needs of those homeless individuals and families who are not prepared to make the transition to permanent housing and independent living without supportive services. Due to dire need, the board has deemed that the initial population served by Memorare, inc., will be women and women with children.
