"Hoffman Gardens" was named in honor of Doctor Charles Hoffman, who was appointed by the Mayor of the City of Hialeah, as the first Chairman of the Board of Commissioners on February 14, 1967. Thereafter, Doctor Charles Hoffman served three consecutive four year terms. The construction of Hoffman Gardens was completed in October of 1971. Hoffman Gardens is currently undergoing a 5 Million Dollar Capital Improvement project, which includes the installation of central Air Conditioning and a complete exterior and common area redesign.
