Landings at East Point is part of an aggressive multi-property redevelopment strategy implemented by the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers (HACFM) and Pinnacle. The buildings were acquired by HACFM though a foreclosure conveyance from HUD in the early 1990s, and have suffered from poor physical condition and obsolescence. Pinnacle and HACFM implemented a development program which involved gutting the buildings entirely and totally renovating, reducing the total number of units from 200 to 126.
